Granny Mary Ross Sutherland

Taken in 1914, this is our Granny Mary Ross Sutherland (nee MacLeman) 1882 - 1955 with children Janetta (Netta)1909 - 1977, David (right) 1911 - 1992 and Sandy 1912 - 1988. The boys were the first Sutherland generation not to follow the fishing - David becoming a Congregational Church Minister and Sandy a manager with Barclay's Bank. Netta was a Cook/Housekeeper in London for a while but homesickness drove her back to Avoch where she became a well-known local 'character'.
